About stars symbols
Unicode has dozens of stars, mostly from the Dingbats block — a set modeled on the ornaments printers kept in their type cases. That’s why so many variations exist: black and white stars, outlined and shadowed stars, pinwheels, and stars with four, six, eight or twelve points.
