How Instagram fonts work
Instagram shows every profile in the same system font, but it accepts Unicode characters in your name, bio and captions. The styles here swap your letters for look-alike characters from Unicode’s script, bold and small-caps alphabets, so they keep their look on every phone that views your profile.
Choose Name or Bio to see where your text will land in the generic profile preview. Name-friendly styles stay readable at the small size Instagram uses for names; the decorative styles — sparkles, heart links, vaporwave width — are better saved for your bio or captions, where there’s more room.
The counter checks your text against approximate limits, about 30 characters for a name and 150 for a bio. Styled letters can count as more than one character, so the counter shows both figures. Your @username can’t use any of this; it only accepts letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
