How the Wingdings translator works
Wingdings is a font Microsoft introduced in the early 1990s that shows pictures — hands, zodiac signs, envelopes, clocks — instead of letters. Type “A” in Wingdings and you get a peace sign. The catch is that the font has to be installed: paste Wingdings text into a chat and it turns back into ordinary letters.
This translator solves that by using Unicode. For each letter, digit and punctuation mark, it finds the standard Unicode symbol that matches the classic Wingdings glyph — ✌ for A, 👌 for B, ♋ for a — and adds a text-presentation selector so symbols try to stay black and white. The result is real text that looks like Wingdings on any device.
