How gothic text works
Gothic text uses Unicode’s Mathematical Fraktur alphabets, a regular and a bold set of blackletter capitals and lowercase letters. They were added for mathematical notation — Fraktur letters label algebraic structures — but they carry the look of old German printing, tattoo lettering and metal band logos.
The Weight chips switch between regular and bold. Gothic Drop Cap sets the first letter of every word in bold Fraktur and the rest in regular, like the opening of an illuminated page. Dark Gothic adds a light scattering of marks below the letters for a dripping, weathered feel, and Spaced Gothic opens up the tight letterforms so long words stay legible.
Decorations frame the whole line: ✠ crosses, † daggers, ☠ skulls, ⚔ swords or 【 】 brackets. They’re ordinary characters, so they also work in display names, where a single symbol can make a gothic name easier to spot. For more formal, less dark blackletter, the Old English generator has presets for mastheads and certificates.
About compatibility: Fraktur letters display on nearly all modern devices. Dark Gothic adds combining marks, which make it longer and can clip in tight spaces.

Fraktur is a style of blackletter — the angular, broken-stroke script used in German printing for centuries. Unicode includes a Fraktur alphabet for mathematics, and that’s what this generator uses.
Why do some capital letters look different?
Five Fraktur capitals (ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ, ℨ) live in an older Unicode block, so a few fonts draw them in a slightly different weight. Bold Gothic has no gaps.
Can I use gothic text in Discord names?
Fraktur usually works in Discord display names and server nicknames. Usernames only accept plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods.
Does gothic text support numbers?
No. Unicode has no Fraktur digits, so numbers stay plain. Add a frame such as ✠ crosses if you want the whole name to feel styled.
