How Facebook fonts work
Facebook doesn’t let you change fonts, but posts and comments accept Unicode characters, including the bold, italic, script and double-struck letters from Unicode’s math alphabets. Paste them in and they display like any other text.
That makes them useful for the one thing a plain post lacks: emphasis. A bold first line, an underlined event name or a struck-through old price stands out in a busy feed. The styles marked Great for posts are the readable ones; Comments & jokes marks the playful styles — bubbles, upside-down text, strikethrough — that work best in short replies.
Names are different. Facebook’s name standards reject symbols, unusual characters and mixed scripts, so this page doesn’t offer styles for profile names.
